About Dr. Crowe
I am a recent Coloradoan, having previously lived in Austin, Atlanta, and Nashville. I was always drawn to the idea of being a therapist, which led me to major in Psychology as an undergraduate at The University of Georgia. I then pursued a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, completed my predoctoral internship at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, and completed my postdoctoral residency at the Tennessee Valley Veterans Healthcare System. Over the course of my training, I worked in community counseling centers, inpatient psychiatric units, and various VA clinics.
I love being a psychologist because it allows me to establish meaningful connections with people that I might not otherwise know. It is a privilege to be let in on peoples’ inner worlds and to be a source of support and guidance as people seek to live fulfilling lives.
area of specialization
I work with adults to make changes across a wide range of concerns and problems. My practice is comprised of clients who are diverse in their presenting complaints and treatment goals, and you can read more about my general approach to therapy here.
Of all the disorders and issues that I treat, I have the most training and expertise in trauma and trauma-related disorders. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked with clients to resolve issues related to childhood trauma, combat trauma, sexual trauma, and more.
I am passionate about reducing the unique suffering that often comes with having lived through a traumatic experience. I believe strongly in the effectiveness of trauma-focused treatments, and it is an honor to accompany people as they work to recover.
